My Favorite Holiday
My favorite holiday is Christmas. I celebrate it by decorating my house with items that represent winter and Christmas. My family gets a tree in the begining of December and we decorate in the week before the holiday. We have no school and having my family over to eat on Christmas Eve. We stuff our selves with seafood and pie. Its delicious.
So my question for you is this:What is your favoite holiday and what are some traditions you have?

My favorite holiday would be Christmas because i get to see my family and and we have lunch and tea together, usually we have a roast for lunch and then have cold meat and salad for tea. We dont really do the whole tree and decorations but we put up a tree sometimes.. XxX

I think my favourite holiday would have to be christmas just because you get to see all your family and relatives. At christmas time here its summer so its nice and sunny outside for activities we normally do as a family such as a random sport just for fun. Christmas day we normally sit down and have chicken or turkey with salads and sometimes a little seafood.

My Favourite holiday would have to be Christmas because it is during the end of year holidays that goes for 6 weeks. What we usually do for Christmas is when we get up we open the presents in our Santa sack. Then we get ready to go to our cousins. Just before we leave we open the presents from under the Christmas Tree. We head off to our cousins place with a few other family members. We get there just before lunchtime and have a BBQ lunch. In the afternoon we play cricket and then for Dinner we have more BBQ food.

I’m Leecie, you will have commented on my blog last couple of weeks for the question.
I was just wondering, what type of pie is it that you eat at Christmas time? is it just meat pie or is it different?? Because we have meat pies which are really popular at the footy and everyone always gets them.
My favourite holiday is Christmas holidays too we get about 5 or so weeks normally but because we’re in yr 10 we get a out a week earlier. For Christmas we have lunch with our family (cousins and Granny) and then A big dinner with our family friends.
But our tradition is that we go to a Caravan park at the start of the year for 2 weeks which we laze around, have heaps of Barbeques (BBQ) and just have a good time (heaps of water fights, late nights, sleeping in, swimming at the beach) It’s really funn!!

my favourite holiday time would have to be christmas because it means parties, family get togethers, presents, seeing cousins you havent seen for ages, lots of foods and no school for 5-6 weeks. It is normally a really nice day not rainy but not too hot.
We always put up a tree and decorate the house. Dad puts up thousands of lights each year and we enter the local christmas light competition. Not bragging but ever since we’ve entered we’ve always come 1st, 2nd or 3rd.
It’s tradition on Christmas day for my brother to wake at 6:00am instead of 8:00am as myu mum and dad would prefer. He will wake us all and head straight for the presents. We spend most of the morning opening and playing with our presents.
My family and my two closest and local aunties’ families go to the cemetry and lay flowers on my granparents grave. Then we will go to either my house or my aunty’s who lives just down the road from us.
We will eat Roast Pork, Roast Lamb, Roast Beef, Roast Chicken, Roast Turkey with a side plate of salads and potatoes.
We play family cricket or some sort of sport most christmases. It gets us all invovled except for my mum who takes photos and movies of everything. It’s so much fun.
The best part about Christmas is that I get to see all my cousins that I don’t usually see. I love them and it’s good to be able to celebrate with them.

My favorite holiday would be christmas as well. We go to my mums side of the family for lunch and my dads side of the family for tea. We eat things like turkey and roasts with salads or a BBQ. We normally have a tree and have presents =] It is a good beacuse some of my family members live far away and we rarely see each other. It is a time where all our family m embers come toghether.

My favourite holiday would be the christmas also known as the summer holidays. i like this holiday the most because you dont only get to celebrate christmas but also new year. AT the start of December my family get the tree out from the cardboard and decerate it with funny and cute little angels and other little things that my family have made over the years. On christmas day we always get the family together and all have a big roast and sometimes my untie makes really nice cheese cakes and pavlova , we always get lots of presents and we sometimes play backyard cricket, frence cricket and football we always have a good time and party all night. For news year we always go camping and stay up all night and party. Last new years we went to a place called Glendening and it was fun it was the first year that my cousins came and we had my uncles best mates come and they have hot sons LOL. I also like these holidays because they are the summer holidays and i always stay with mate and go swimming and shopping everyday. i love summer holidays.

My favourite holiday would have to be Christmas because I have a lot of fun buying and wrapping up Christmas presents for family and friends. Finding a Christmas tree and decorating it is also a lot of fun.
We have two family get togethers as we have one for Mums side of the family and anothers for Dads family. We usually have a barbeque or cold meat and salad.

My favourite Holiday would have to be Christmas because it’s always a surprise, we’re not a traditional family. Every year is something different. last year I spend Christmas with my dad’s family (my Cousin’s, Oma and my Uncles and Aunty)
The year before that was with mum and her family. Christmas in my family involves presents that are to expensive to be given normally like gaming systems and computers and other expensive stuff, the food we eat depands on the year and what family I’m with. usually a nice BBQ with the family.

My favourite holidays would have to be Christmas, we have 5 weeks holiday. on Christmas we have all of our family over, some of the traditions would be roast lunch or tea (pork, lamb, beef, turkey, seafood), or otherwise a barbeque. Sometimes my family goes camping and that is always heaps of fun.
I think that one other thing that is great about Christmas holidays is going shopping with friends and going to stay over the night at their place!! : )

mah fave holi would be chrissy 2. I like the feel of family and religion it has-and the prezzies are pretty sick 2. I spend the mornin at mah mums and then me an meh lil sis head tah me nans in port fairy(victoria, Australia). Sum1 usually gets a cray (crayfish) an every1 hoes inta that. The oldies get on the grog.
festivals? we have folky (port fairy folk festival) buskers (mortlake buskers festival) and we have lil concerts like battle of the bands an hardwired.

My favourite holiday would have to Christmas there is no school for about 6 weeks and my birthday is close to Christmas. For Christmas we usually have roast lamb and beef and maybe some pork for lunch and for tea we have the left over meat and some salad. It is some times really hot when it is Christmas because it is summer so we usually have something cold for dessert.

My favorite holiday is also Christmas. I like to receive and give presents, but I love to be with my family and friends. A day that we can spend together and enjoy the holiday. We usually have my uncle and aunt over and open presents and have a big dinner with them. We always have a lot of fun and play a lot of different games. I love CHRISTMAS. I really enjoy all of the holidays, but if I did have to choose one of them it would be Christmas. Our house is alwasy busy with beds full of people. My mom invites her sisters from Rhode Island, and my dad’s brothers come and visit. We do so much cooking and have like two long tables where everyone sits to eat. We get our Christams tree whenever we can, usually the beginning of December. We always get a real tree, I won’t let my mom get a fake one. Then, we decorate it with the Christmas music on. We use to start putting lights up on our house after Tanksgiving, but last year we didn’t put any lights up because my dad couldn’t. I love Christmas, ESPECIALLY the presents.

My favorite holiday would have to be Thanksgiving. This is my favorite holiday because a lot of my family comes over and we eat alot of food. We normally start cooking early in the morning everyone comes over around 12 or 1. Then we eat. Then after we eat food we talk and talk and talk.

I think that my favorite holiday is Christmas as well. For Christmas every year we go to my Grandmother’s house at around ten o’clock in the morning right after church gets out. We bring all of our presents for our family members and they bring all their presents for us. First, we have a huge lunch with ham, mashed potatoes and all different things. Then, we sit and chat and all the kids go play outside in the snow. Last, we all exchange the presents and give hugs and say many thank you’s. After everything is over we all hug eachother and say goodbye on the way out and Merry Christmas. Christmas is just such a joyous time of year, and it is great to celebrate the joy with family and friends!

My favorite holiday, and I didn’t even realize it up until this point, is the Fourth of July. This is because I’ve had so many memories from the Fourth of July, and enjoyable times to look back on. Every Fourth of July, up until a few years ago, my sister, my mother, my three cousins, my aunt, uncle, and I would meet up at my grandparent’s house in the Hamptons (Long Island) and spend the weekend there. Every year it was sunny and beautiful. We would swim in the pool and run around basically all day. I remember one year we put on a “play”, and then another year we played a game of kickball. By the end of the day we would all be tan, some of us sunburnt, and we would sit down and watch a movie in the family room together. Every year, it was just as much fun as the last, and those are the memories that I will look back fondly on. Now everyone’s older, we don’t get along as much, but I miss these times at the beginning of summer every Fourth of July.

My favorite holiday is Christmas. Many people would say this just because they enjoy receiving gifts. I love the gifts, but there are more important reasons to celebrate Christmas. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. One tradition is that my family always comes to my house and we have a ham dinner. We get together on both Christmas Eve and Christmas day.

My favorite holiday is the Fourth of July. My family celebrates this by having our relatives and friends over. My uncle lights off tons of fireworks while we start a huge game of manhunt. Everyone stays at our house until one or two in the morning. We pig out, have fun and keep the neighbors up.

My favorite holiday is the 4th of July which is independence day in America. It is when everyone wears red white and blue (the colors on the flag) and we get together with our family. I go to my aun’ts house and hang out with my cousins. We play sports like baseball, basketball and soccer and when we get hot, we jump in the pool. I think that is the most fun because we make the pool full of waves and play games and stuff. We have hot dogs and hamburgers and other picnic foods like potato and macaroni salad. It is so much fun!! The best part is when we lay down a giant blanket on the ground which all the kids sit on and we watch the fireworks light up the sky. They are all so beautiful and its so much fun to sit with my baby cousins and let them laugh everytime the fireworks sound. Sometimes we get bored and liven the party up by throwing icecubes at eachother and putting them down other peoples backs. It is really cold!!

The house smells like evergreen trees. The kitchen smells like ham and various other foods. There are presents laying under the tree. Can you guess what holiday I am thinking of? Well, of course I am talking about Christmas. Christmas is my favorite holiday. I have such great memories at this time of the year. The snow is falling, the heat is blasting making the house all toasty and I am surrounded by the ones I love the most. Some people think that Christmas is all about presents and gifts, but that is not the true reality about Christmas. Christmas is actually about the time you spend with your loved ones. There is nothing like sitting on the couch after a big meal talking with the ones you care the most about. That is what I love about Christmas. Usually there is not a time when everybody in my family can get together, but everybody makes an effort for Christmas. I remember when I was little and all my cousins used to travel hours to spend the Christmas holiday with family. Of course, now that everybody has gotten older it has gotten harder to all meet us, but nevertheless, we still think about each other all the time.

It was very hard for me to pick one holiday as my favorite, because each is so special in its own way. But I finally have decided that Halloween is my holiday. Each year, I go trick-or-treating with a different group of friends, that way, I will have eventually gotten to spend the holiday with all of my friends! Although being with my friends is my favorite part about the holiday, I also enjoy dressing up. Every year, I love coming up with a new and creative costume to wear. Most kids would probably say that they enjoy getting the candy, but I really just end up throwing most of it away. Being with my friends is what really make the holiday so much fun!

My favorite holiday is Christmas! Sorry to copy you, but I love seeing my family! My cousin comes down from MA and it’s almost like a big reunion. I am a big Italian and my grandmother is all about her culture and old ways back in Italy with her parents. An Italian tradition on any holiday is for everyone to have a glass of wine. My dad, an old bartender, knows just what kind of wine is perfect for our family. My dad also knows his meats because his father owned his own butcher shop. He knows how to make the perfect meal for our home. I can’t tell you what “it” is because “it” changes every year! When my mom’s side of the family comes over, my dad still cooks, but my grandfather brings cheese, lots and lots of cheese. Where dos he get all this cheese you ask? Well, from his cousin in Italy. He owns a cheese factory in Italy! I haven’t been there before, but I saw pictures and it is HUGE! I guess our traditions never change. My favorite, of course, is the presents!! And my grandparents really know how to buy them too!! Now that I am getting older, I really appreciate money! You’re never too old to love the sweet smell of cash!

My favorite holiday would have to be Christmas. My family and I bring up all the winter decorations, and I go through ornaments that we will use. We spray some of the windows with fake frost. Then we go out and buy a big tree, bring it home, and then use the decorations I picked out. We cover it with lights to make it look cooler. Then we all buy presents for one another, and we open the ones that me and my siblings got for one another on Christmas eve. On Christmas day the first person up wakes everyone up, and then we open all the presents santa left behind.

My favorite holiday is Christmas. It’s my favorite because; of course; the presents! Since my family is really Italian we do have alot of traditions. When we put our Christmas tree up we don’t take it down until Janurary 6th, of the new year because, that’s when it’s Christmas in Italy.
For Christmas Eve, I always go to my dad’s sisters house (my aunt’s) and on Christmas Day we go to my grandparents house (my mom’s parents). We eat pastsa and turkey for Christmas Eve and Day.

My favorite holiday is Halloween, because we have huge parties && a ton of decorations. Our parties have like, 50 people and so much fun stuff yo do && great food to eat. Every year we combine my brothers’ && my Dad’s birthday’s at our Halloween party, since all their birthdays are in October. Even though we don’t have a “Halloween Break”, it’s still my favorite holiday.&& the dressing up as strange things is fun too.

My favorite holiday iws Christmas because I get to get a lot of presents from my family. Some of the traditions that my family have are we open presents when everyone wakes up, we videotape every Christmas, we go to church at 10:30 mass, we never get dressed (from out of our pajamas) except when we go to church then we get home and change back into our pajamas, and finally we sleep as late as we want.

By far, my favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. Each year on the day before Thanksgiving, my mom and I stay up until at least 1am cooking for the next day. Around 11am the next morning (Thanksgiving), we attend a football game between the cross town rival high schools in my town. When the game is over, we go back to my house to have lunch with my entire family. I love Thanksgiving because my sister comes home, and I get to spend time with the family members I never see anymore. I also enjoy Thanksgiving because of the quality time I get to spend with my mom. Along with cooking with her the night before, we go shopping around midnight until 6am the day after Thanksgiving. (Black Friday)

My faviorate holiday is Christmas. Every year we fill our tree up with decorations that we made or bought. Then we go shopping for each other until Christmas Eve. Then my sister and I stay up as long as we want or until we fall asleep. In the morning we get up whenever. Usally, my dad and I are up first. We wait until everyne gets up. Then, my mom makes coffeefor the adults and hot chocolate for my sister and I. Then, my dad takes out the camera abnd records us opening some of our presents. We all take turns opening presens until they’re all gone. Finally, we do our stockings and then have breakfest. Sometimes we do special things as a family but, it is different every year.

My favorite holiday would have to be Christmas, it is such a great time of the year. Especially with the snow (usually) on the ground and all the decorations people put outside their house. It’s a great sight to see. I love spending time with family members I barely ever get to see. Usually my family and I put up our Christmas tree three weeks or so before Christmas. We play holiday songs and put on the Rudolph movie while decorating, my mom usually makes cookies afterwards. Christmas Eve we go to my grandpa’s house and spend time with our very large family. It’s always full of laughs. Towards the end we all open our gifts. Christmas day is at my house we wake up super early and open all the gifts under the tree (there’s always a ton) then we start cooking for honestly hours for the Christmas party that would take place later in the day. Overall, Christmas is my favorite because of all the quality time I get to spend with people I love. I love giving/getting (yes, getting) gifts and just the happiness that goes along with the holiday. The gorgeous snow that sometimes coats the ground is just a plus.

Myfavorite holiday would have to be Christmas. We always have a Christmas Eve party at my nona’s hous. Then we usually have Christmas morning at my house. My whole family comes over and we usuall y have a football game. There’s always a lot of food and plenty to do. We always decorate our house with lights, flowers, and a tree. We usually get up early in the morning because everyone is so excited. My Nona makes poppyseed bread every year and it’s my favorite Christmas food.

My favorite holiday is Christmas. During Christmas my family and I travel to New Jersey to visit my cousins. This is the only time that I get to spend time with them, so I value the time that we spend together. My family also has some traditions that we follow every year. For instance, every Christmas Eve we travel to a park in New Jersey to go view the Christmas lights. I value the time that we have together, because I know this is the only time of the year that I get to see them. Christmas is my favorite holiday because it’s good with good cheer, lots of laugh, and filled with memories that last throughout the year.

My favorite holiday is Christmas too because I get to see my family and friends. However, I also get presents! =] I get to pick out something special for each person and make them very happy. ‘Tis the season to be jolly!
Some of the traditional things that we do during Christmas is sit down with the family and read a Christmas story. However, this isn’t just a regular Christmas story. While we are reading it, every time we say the word “the”, we pass secret gifts that we don’t know who are from around. Then, when the story’s over, you get stuck with the gift you are left with. This is always exciting. I also love the big feasts we have. In addition, you get the suspense during Christmas Eve, the day before Christmas, because you can’t wait for it to come!

My favorite like well it’s not like a holiday but i think it is it’s summer. Ichoose summer because, it’s the time of the year were i get to hang out with my friends and play baseball. It’s my time for me to just sit back relax and hang-out with my family and go on a lot of vacations. My family and I go to Cape Cod every year and go to the beach there. And my dad and I go to a lot of baseball games and we just get in the car and go to some pretty cool vacation spots. And for this year my baseball team get to go to Cape Cod for a tournament. So, I would half to say that summer is like a holiday to me.

a tradition in my family would be that every halloween we try to scare the first person we see in my house

My favorite holiday is Christmas because I get to see my friends and family. We get a tree from a christmas tree farm and we bring it home. We then put the tree in the christmas tree stand and decorate it. we listen to christmas music and drink hot chocolate.

I like most holidays because we have school off but if i had 2 pick one for my favorite i would say it would have to be christmas because your surrounded by friends and family who love you, you also get presents and gifts, you get to eat as much as you want, plus theres no school for about 3 weeks ☺ ☻ ☺ ☻

My favorite holiday is The 4th of July because I like to watch the fireworks. My moms side of the family usually has a cookout and then i see my dad and we go to my grandmas house. Me and my grandmas sometimes go to my uncles house in vermont. Sometimes I go to my grandas house and we watch fireworks. It’s cool because I can see them from my house so I stay home and watch them.

My favorite holiday is also chrismas because when i have all my family over its good to talk to them seeing that i havent seen them in a while. some traditions that we have is we always sing holiday songs and that we always have sauce that my mum always makes and i will always love to have chrismas.:)

My favorite holiday is Christmas because you get to see your family and you get to eat alot. You also get alot of money and presents . I like seeing what i get from the different people and its fun to play in the snow if its cold enough outside!

I think my favorite Holiday is Christmas because I get to see my family. I also enjoy it because we get presents and because of the time of year. When we have Christmas it is winter so there is usually snow.

My favorite holiday would have to be Christmas because you get to see all of your family and you get to be thankful for stuff that you werent expecting to get. You get to spend time with the most important people in your life and even if you dont get what you want you can still be thankful that you have a family that loves you and cares about you and will be willing to do anything to help you with a time of struggle.

My favorite holiday is 4th of July, Independance Day. On the 4th of July I go to my grandparent’s cottage. It is a thirty-five minute drive from my house and about a two minute walk to a beach. We go there in the afternoon and have lunch with my family and then at night we would meet at the beach around six at night and watch the fireworks go off. We go back to the cottage a few hours later and have something to eat like watermelon or cake or something of that sort. Then sometimes we stay there all night and sleep over or we go home.

My favorite holiday is christmas. It is a relaxing time (for me anyway.) We usually have a turkey to eat and a whole lot of yummy food until we cant eat at all! Christmas signifies the time when Jesus Christ was born and the Virgin Mary and Jesus Christ was given gifts of Gold Frankensense and Mhur (lol i dont know if thats how u spell them. lol.) It is a really long and relaxing holiday. We meet a lot of reletives and the whole family comes together for a couple of days.

my favorite holidays are the christmas holidays. our family celebrates christmas by having a christmas tree that we decorate. we go to our mums side of the family for lunch and tea at our dads side of the family. we have some sort of different roasts for lunch and for diner we have cold meats ans salads and things.

What is your favoite holiday and what are some traditions you have?
The best place i have been for a holiday would be Robinvale. Robinvale is a town on the murray river. We stay in the caravan park there in summer and water ski most of the time.

My Favorite holiday!!
I dont really know what my favorite holiday is but if i had to choose i would pick the winter holidays because we can stay in side when its raning and they go out side and jump in the puddles.

My Favourite holiday is the Easter holiday break. The reason why like this holiday is because the weather is not too cold and not too hot. The best place I have been over the easter break is to a little country town in New South Wales called Tumut. I liked this place because I had Never been there before and I was amazed at the sort of trees they had in the country town.
